Tour Description

Immerse yourself in the heart of Togolese life. Travel across the beautiful villages perched on the side of Mount Agou, the highest summit in Togo at 986 meters. Experience the everyday life of Agou communities such as the Agou Dzigbé and Agou Kpéta, and learn about their traditional but atypical lifestyles. Discover fields of coffee, cacao, orange trees, and avocado trees as well as diverse and exotic fruits. Participate in the preparation of African dishes and craft indigenous soaps from herbs and medicinal plants.

Day 1: Arrival and welcome to Kpalimé
Arrive and settle in at the hotel. Then visit Kouma Konda, a tourist village in Kloto. Tour the village, meeting its welcoming residents, and viewing their handicrafts. Hike Mount Kloto to enjoy a beautiful 360° view of the entire Kloto region and the Volta region of Ghana, with the special highlight of the beautiful Volta Lake. Return to the hotel for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Trek from Agomé-Yoh to Agou Pétsi
After breakfast, begin a trek of Mount Agou. There will be a car transfer to the base of the mountain at Nyogbo village. There, enjoy a picnic on the grass in the heart of the tropical forest. After 5 or 6 hours of hiking, arrive in the village of Péki where you will spend the night in a bivouac (a temporary encampment). After a cold shower, enjoy dinner and celebration with popular Akpesse music. Under the light of the moon, forget your exhaustion in the warm atmosphere of typical African ambiance and traditions.

Day 3: Trek from Kpétsi to Kpéta
Enjoy a breakfast of millet or corn porridge, beignets, and fresh cooked pineapple. Begin the day with 4 hours of trekking to Kpét. Cross through villages like Dzigbé and Dogbadzi and even an overlook point at the highest point of Togo. In the afternoon, the women of Kpét will welcome you in the village’s biogas center to teach you how to prepare indigenous soups and juices from exotic fruits. At the end of the afternoon, you will be transferred to the hotel for the final night in Kpalimé. Enjoy a farewell cocktail.

Tour price includes meals for 3 days, transport by motorcycle, entrance fees, local guide, and accommodation in a tent and homestay.

How To Get There

Arriving from Lome to the center of Kpalimé, take the route toward Missahoé at the corner of Fan Milk. The office of ADETOP is situated on the left across from CECAV. Pickup and dropoff can be arranged upon request.
