Community-based cooperative
The Villagers' Camp of Enampore is a community-based sustainable tourism project. It aims at improving lives of villagers by investing profits from tourism in public goods such as schools, health and youth centers.
Tour proceeds help our community build the basic institutions of society, such as classrooms and a health center.

The Diola culture of Senegal lies at the heart of Enampore. Stay a night with us in one of our traditional “cases a impluvium” huts. Enjoy the relaxing natural scenery of Senegal. Share a native meal with the villagers, and listen to stories of our unusual “sacred forest.” After waking up to the gleaming African sunrise, stroll around the town and learn about the beliefs, traditions, and activities of our people. You will get to know the locals and see the progress the community continues to make in creating public institutions. Grow rice, nuts, and mangoes with the farmers, and get a closer look at the essence of our way of life. Following a bike ride through the village, you will leave Enampore with stories to tell for the rest of your life.
You can reach Ziguinchor by boat, plane, or car. From Ziguinchor, rent a cab to Enampore (you should not pay more than 10,000 FCFA for one way). You can also use public transportation but it is not very reliable so be prepared to wait. If you choose this option, go to the bus station ("gare routière" in French) in Ziguinchor.
Our mission is to support the economic development of our village while preserving the heritage of the local culture and its traditions.
Maintain and manage the camp for visitors.
Give grants to community projects such as schools, health centers, shared plots for agriculture.
