Indian Social Service Institute is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1986 by a team of socially committed professionals and volunteers in response to a drought in the the district of Pudukottai in Southern India.
Tour revenue will support the distribution of educational materials for students, the distribution of raw materials for manufacturing of sanitary napkins, and the distribution of seedlings for organic tree plantation.

What’s better than empowering local women while learning about their country? On this Women and Girls Empowerment Program, you’ll have the chance to give back to and get to know the area better. Beginning at 10 AM, visit the Chatrapatti Village jewelry making unit. There, you will spend a few hours learning the craft of jewelry making alongside local ladies. At 1 PM, travel from the jewelry station to the ISSI campus by foot - it’s only 600 meters away! Upon your arrival, you will participate in the preparation of a South Indian meal. ISSI’s female staff will teach you tips and tricks for attaining the most delicious results possible. You’ll serve the meal as lunch to various visitors. Finally, finish off your afternoon by discovering India’s magnificent temples. Located in the Pudukkottai town, itself, strolling through these temple grounds will be a lovely way to unwind after a long day.
