Deliver Hot Meals & Warm Visits to Homebound Seniors
Deliver Hot Meals & Warm Visits to Homebound Seniors
Deliver meals to senior citizens and help fight hunger in NYC.

Nonprofit organization
Participants: 2 to 40

What you’ll do

Team up for a meal delivery to lend a hand in the fight against elder hunger! Upon arrival at one of the organization's Manhattan-based partner meal centers, your group will receive a short orientation from a staff member who will discuss the parameters of the project and answer any questions you might have. Your group will be separated into smaller teams of 2-4 people and given a delivery route. You will then deliver the meals to community members who live within walking distance of the meal center. Every volunteer will deliver 10-15 nutritious meals to seniors in need. For homebound seniors, a visit from a friendly and caring volunteer is always most welcome and appreciated. Please note, this activity may start at either 9:30 or 10 AM depending on the organization's needs. Each of the organization's four Manhattan meal centers can accommodate 35 volunteers, so up to 140 people can participate at once (divided into four groups at different locations). Please book at least 2 weeks in advance.
