Listen to the stories of refugees in Germany while supporting programs that provide safe spaces for displaced migrants to integrate into their new communities.

What you’ll do

In this experience, you and your team will have the opportunity to listen to up to five different individuals about their displacement from their home country and their subsequent relocation to Germany.

The session will begin with a brief summary about the speakers' lives. After hearing these introductions, you and your team will split into a groups to interact more closely with at least one of the speakers. Depending on the number of participants, the groups will consist of up to eight participants. In these breakout groups, you will hear details about a displaced migrant's authentic experience, with the opportunity to ask questions. Due to the personal nature of this session, please come with an open mind and heart. Finally, the group will reconvene for a general Q&A.


  • Presentation About Nonprofit and Main Events (15 minutes)
  • Introduction of the Refugees (10 minutes)
  • Volunteers Enter Breakout Rooms (40 minutes)
  • Q&A and Conclusion (10 minutes)

  • This experience will be conducted over Zoom.
  • The biography that you will listen to will be personal, and the nonprofit asks that you and your colleagues treat the participants who share their stories with respect and an open mind.
