Make your way from the idyllic fishing village of Taganga to the stunning and secluded Bonito Gordo beach! Trek along a pre-Columbian road through the dry tropical forest, one of the most endangered ecosystems in Colombia, to a beach to which only fisherman usually have access. You will be accompanied on your adventure by our local guide, Pocho, a member of Taganga’s Fishermen’s Cooperative who is very knowledgeable about the plants native to the area and their traditional cultural uses. Hike up a hill just east of Taganga for an incredible panoramic view of both the village and the city of Santa Marta! Your next stop will be Bonito Gordo - a mile long beach with white sand and turquoise water. Here, Pocho will prepare a delicious meal in a wood-fired oven with fresh ingredients purchased directly from local fishermen. Enjoy your lunch the traditional way - around the campfire and with a cup of coffee sweetened with Colombian brown sugar. After you eat, head back to Taganga along the same walking path or sail directly to the village by boat.
We had a very special day, one we will not ever forget. Alejo de Tiempo de Juego and Poncho de Taganga made a wonderful team...they are great hosts. Poncho set the fishing nets and let my son help. It was incredible for him. Thank you very much. Saludos Cordiales
