Small Art School was my first experience with The 1.5 hrs painting session with one of their young artist was a great learning experience. At first I thought I was the one helping them by booking their painting class. However, in the end it was me who had been enriched a lot. I really appreciate the efforts of the teachers and the founder of this school for helping develop the art skills of the Cambodian youth.

“I took my children to this school this morning to learn more about the program. We were greeted by the school's founder, Japanese art teacher Tomoko and her staff. We left just so inspired by the work they are doing to help underprivileged Khmer children. The school is predominantly funded by Tomoko personally so works are offered for sale and art lessons available for visiting children... Which my daughter was pleased to participate in!

Teaching skills to the children such as art and Japanese assists in breaking the cycle of poverty for the Cambodian children. Many children from orphanages and rural communities travel up to an hour to attend the free lessons.

It was a heartwarming visit and if you can afford to buy some art or make a donation it will go a long way. We felt no pressure to purchase but of course did. Money left there was much better spent than on Pub Street and we left with much more than we gave.”

“I was incredibly impressed by the story of Tomoko’s perseverance and commitment to pursuing art classes for underprivileged children; and secondly by the actual school, the generosity, the resources, the talent and vision for creating sustainability of the schooling future. I would recommend that anyone with an interest in art or creativity to go for a visit.”
