Your visit will make an extra impact! Expect off the beaten path conditions.
Your walking tour of Sofia begins in the city center by the National Courthouse. Follow your knowledgeable guide to what locals call “the quadrangle of tolerance”, where a historic Catholic church, Orthodox church, synagogue and mosque face each other: a famous symbol of religious tolerance in Bulgaria. Stop in local shops and check out secret side streets as you continue onto the major highlights of Sofia.
From the Presidential Palace and the Houses of Parliament, to the St. Nevski Cathedral and National Theater, to the campus of Sofia University and the National Stadium, you will get to witness all of the major hotspots in Bulgaria’s capital. Wander into the beautiful heart of the city, the lively hub of Vitosha Boulevard, and shop for souvenirs, stop for a coffee, or just enjoy people-watching in one of the many open-air bars or green spaces along the way!
Our guide was extremely excited and passionate which made the entire tour a great adventure. Our guide, Dessi, was so well informed and passionate about her country and her city that it made the whole experience really incredible. She was very lively and made the crowd interact during the tour which was great. We even reenacted the history of leaders which was a lot of fun.
