After a four-hour drive out of chaotic Fortaleza, you will arrive at the preserved localities of Tatajuba and Caetanos de Cima to spend 4 days and 3 nights with the amazing people of North-Eastern Brazil. Experience the unique way of life for traditional communities residing amongst the sand dunes and lagoons overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Visit two out of the 15 communities on the coast of Ceará ( part of Tucum, a local network of community-based tourism) that offer genuine hospitality, local tours and home-made food. Enjoy the lush nature, the warm culture, and hear the local stories of life and struggle. The community members have a history of resistance against real estate speculators and the industry of luxury tourism, who have often jeopardized their survival.
