Join Favela Phoenix for an insightful tour opportunity! You will discover the challenges of life in an urban Brazilian slum. With an experienced guide, you will tour an at-risk community in Rio de Janeiro. Your tour will include visits to a school and a local graffiti studio where you will learn more about the culture of Rio and gain a greater understanding of the challenges facing the residents. Next, visitors will witness a capoeira show, a martial art form that mixes dance with acrobatics and music. This particular art form was developed by slaves from West Africa and remains to be a vital aspect of Brazilian culture. Your guide will also take you to a unique Brazilian restaurant.
