With only a small population of 20 wild donkeys left on the island, Donkey Sanctuary Aruba needs your help! On this tour to help save the donkeys, you will first arrive at the sanctuary in Aruba. Beginning with an introduction about the organization’s mission, you will get a feel for the work you can become a part of on this tour! You will take a tour of the sanctuary and learn about the everyday work that goes on there. You can meet the donkeys that are given names, food, shelter, medical care, and lots of love by the people at Donkey Sanctuary Aruba! And if you arrive early enough, you can even help with the daily chores of feeding and caring for the donkeys, a great and educational experience! If you’d rather just observe, then you’re welcome to grab a seat on the covered porch, sit back with some coffee or a cold beverage and snack from the concession stand, or take a look inside our gift shop. Become a part of the ongoing mission to protect and save the donkeys on this fun and educational tour!
The Donkey Sanctuary is a really great place for tourist to go to! The staff and volunteers are really nice and they give you like a small tour around the Sanctuary, and telling you about their mission and history. Also it is free! It's a great place to go if you want to know more about Animal life in Aruba.
My girlfriend and I fell in love with the donkeys. The volunteers do great work and are keeping alive a beautiful piece of Aruban heritage.
A very enjoyable stop. Be sure to walk back and talk to a volunteer for more information. Also, bring apples, but pass them out from behind the fence, unless you like being swarmed by the donkeys.

Take Route 4a from the hotels and follow this road for 14 km. Pass all the circles/roundabouts until you see a sign for the French Men’s Pass. Make a left turn into the French Men’s Pass, then 1st left, then 2nd right. On that dirt road, you will find the Donkey Sanctuary after about 200 meters. If you have a GPS device, navigate to these coordinates: N 12°48.974’ W 069°96.642’. This will bring you to the entrance of the Donkey Sanctuary.
