Your accommodation will be a standard double room with a bathroom.

Day 2: Salta to the Calchaquies Valleys
After breakfast, you will depart early from Salta city by shared vehicle through the Lerma and the Calchaquies Valleys, as well as the Shells Gorge. This group excursion has an English speaking guide included. Tobacco farming is the main economic activity in the Lerma Valley. You will enjoy spectacular views of the tobacco plantations en route. In the Shells Gorge, you’ll get to see how wind and water erosion has sculpted the rocks, creating remarkable shapes. On arrival to Cafayate city, you will visit a local winery and its vineyard to enjoy a wine tasting. Lunch and dinner are not included. Your accommodation will be a standard double room with a bathroom.

Day 3: From Cafayate to Corralito Rural Community
In the morning, you will take a “remis” (local taxi) to the Corralito rural community, located close to Cafayate. You will meet the inhabitants of this small rural village and spend two days with the host family. Join in with the day-to-day activities of a rural family in the heart of the Calchaquies Valleys. In addition to ecotourism activities, you will get to try your hand at the preparation of regional cuisine and farming work, such as growing peppers for paprika, onions, and cumin, along with goat and cattle breeding. All meals are included. Your accommodation will be a homestay (private rooms with shared facilities).
